"This organization will test your dedication and passion for both teaching and learning, build ties with compatriots you never knew, and strengthen your resolve to achieve the greatness destined within your soul. Though your admissions process was fairly simple, be prepared to work hard and diligently." - David Yeh, Co-Founder and Co-President of SNHS

Tutoring
1. In general, tutoring will happen every Wednesday during Eagle Time in Mr. Astri's room (Rm. 506) for all science subjects. However, after-school and other in-school sessions may be arranged in advance provided that there is a mutual agreement between the tutor and the student receiving tutoring.

3. Tutors must sign the tutoring binder (typically located in Mr. Astri's room, although you may need to search for it) in order to receive credit for a session.
Attendance
1. To discuss requirements and to prepare for the RISE conference, SNHS members will be expected to attend honor society meetings throughout the year. Meeting dates and locations will be disclosed by email.
2. If there is any change in the date or location of a meeting, members will be notified through email.
3. During each meeting, attendance will be recorded. For simply being present, members will earn one credit per meeting.
4. Absences are categorized into excused and unexcused. Excused absences include sickness and testing; members will not earn credits for excused absences, but neither will they lose credits. However, each unexcused absence will result in the deduction of one credit.
5. If you will miss a meeting, you must notify us by email no later than 7:25 AM the day of the meeting. Any email received after this time will be disregarded, and your absence will be marked as unexcused.
**Please note that attendance at the annual RISE conference hosted by SNHS is mandatory for all members. Not attending will result in immediate dismissal from our honor society**
Dismissal
1. By joining SNHS, students acknowledge that membership is at will and may be terminated at any time for failure to comply with the basic requirements described above.
2. If the board deems that an individual has consistently failed to abide by the bylaws, the individual will receive a formal letter of dismissal via email.
3. At the discretion of the board, a member may be placed on probation for a certain period of time. Those on probation will continue to be considered active members of SNHS, but they will usually have to satisfy some sort of condition to remain in the honor society. If the aforementioned condition is not adequately met when the window of time expires, the individual will receive a formal letter of dismissal.
Note that the board reserves the right to modify the bylaws at any time for any reason.
